Andre B. Toussaint, Ph.D

Andre B. Toussaint is an adjunct instructor at Outreach Training Institute (OTI), where he previously obtained his CASAC-T certification in 2015 and worked as an Adolescent Substance Abuse Counselor at its in-patient facility from 2015-2017. He also has experience working with adult populations in an outpatient setting.

Andre earned a Ph.D. in Psychology and Neuroscience at Temple University in 2022, where he conducted research on the intergenerational effects of paternal morphine exposure on pain-related and addiction-like behavior and physiology in male and female rodent offspring.

Currently, Andre works as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Columbia University’s Zuckerman Mind, Brain, Behavior Institute, where he started in 2022. There, he investigates addiction vulnerability using genetically diverse mouse models of inherent pain under the guidance of Dr. Ishmail Abdus-Saboor.
