ORC Community Residence for Men
On May 1st, 2017, Outreach assumed sponsorship of the adult male community residence and outpatient substance abuse treatment program located on the grounds of the Pilgrim Psychiatric Center in Brentwood, Long Island. The Outreach Recovery Center (ORC), offers trauma-informed adult outpatient services, a safe and supportive residence for persons transitioning back to independent living following intensive residential or inpatient treatment, and a specialized treatment track for veterans.
The ORC adult male Community Residence is a 24-hour staffed, safe and supportive living facility for persons who have completed intensive residential or inpatient treatment and are transitioning back to independent living. The residence offers two-person rooms with single beds and on-site fitness equipment and laundry facilities. Participation in the ORC outpatient program is required.
In ORC’s Adult Outpatient program, quality outpatient substance abuse treatment is provided using evidence-based, multi-phase models in individual and group counseling, with services including individualized treatment planning, gender-specific groups, trauma-informed care, medical screenings, psychiatric evaluations and weekly toxicology testing. In addition to these services, the Veterans’ Treatment track pays particular attention to the unique psychological and physical toll experienced by veterans of the armed forces. Enhanced service offerings such as veterans’ support groups, case management, vocational services and recreational space for socialization, job search, and more, give compassionate support in addressing PTSD and other life stressors resulting from service in the military.
Outreach’s Recovery Residence for Women
Outreach’s Recovery Residence for Women is centrally located on Outreach’s Crooked Hill Campus in Brentwood, Suffolk County.
The residence offers two-person rooms with single beds furnished with desk spaces for privacy and work, designated community spaces for family meetings and sober social gatherings, a kitchen and communal dining area, and an outdoor patio and garden area. Length of stay varies by each resident’s needs and progression in outpatient treatment.
Participation in an outpatient program is required, and transportation is available for residents to and from Outreach’s outpatient program in Brentwood, which provides enhanced outpatient treatment for women.
Specialized services for women at the Women’s Residence includes: enhanced gender responsive outpatient treatment for women utilizing a trauma-informed framework, including psychiatric evaluation and mental health monitoring, specialized group sessions (anger management, life skills, relapse prevention), domestic violence counseling, recovery planning, family counseling, health education, vocational assessment and ongoing support services.

All of Outreach’s residential services are licensed by the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS). We accept Medicaid, Medicare, most insurance plans, and sliding scale payments.
