Heroes Against Heroin 5K Walk
Walking Together for Hope. Recovery. Remembrance.

Every year, hundreds of families, friends, advocates, and community members come together to honor lives lost to addiction, celebrate recovery, and support those still seeking hope.

Hosted by the John Brower Jr. Foundation in partnership with Outreach, the 11th Annual Heroes Against Heroin 5K Walk is more than a walk, it’s a powerful community movement dedicated to raising awareness about substance use disorders, reducing stigma, and ensuring that individuals and families have access to lifesaving prevention, treatment, and recovery services.

Whether you are walking in memory of a loved one, supporting someone in recovery, or standing with the thousands of families affected by addiction, your participation makes a meaningful difference.

Jones Beach State Park – Field 1
Registration: 9:00 a.m.
5K Walk Begins: 10:00 a.m.

Bring your family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, or create a team. Participants of all ages are welcome as we come together for a morning of remembrance, hope, healthy activity, and community. The event will also feature a live DJ, light refreshments, and free Narcan training.

Register as an individual or form a team and help raise awareness while supporting Outreach’s mission of Building Healthy Lives.

Registration Fee: $25. Children under 18 are welcome when accompanied by an adult.

Become a Fundraiser

Invite your family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues to sponsor your walk and help expand access to prevention, treatment, recovery, and family support services for individuals affected by substance use disorders. Sponsor sheets are available in the registration packet.

Volunteer

Can’t participate in the walk? We’d love your help! Volunteers are always needed to assist with registration, event activities, and welcoming participants.

If you are unable to attend, you can still make an impact by making a tax-deductible donation in support of Outreach and the John Brower Jr. Foundation’s shared commitment to helping individuals and families affected by addiction.
