Courtney McDermott, LMHC

As Director of Outpatient Services at Outreach in Bellport – a position to which she was appointed in December 2021 – Courtney McDermott oversees all clinical programs at the Long Island-based facility that serves more than 250 clients through the Adolescent, Evening Adult and Women’s Day Outpatient Programs. Previously serving as Director of Outpatient Services at the Outreach Recovery Center (ORC) at Pilgrim State in Brentwood, Long Island since 2020, she returns to the site at which she began her career at Outreach.

McDermott commenced her affiliation with Outreach as an intern while working on her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, and joined the team officially as a case manager in the Women’s Day Rehabilitation Program at Outreach in Bellport in 2013. She later held increasingly responsible clinical posts and in April 2019 transitioned to the role of Clinical Coordinator of Outpatient Services at the Outreach Recovery Center, before being appointed Director of Outpatient Services at that unit. McDermott credits Outreach with instilling in her values from the beginning of her  career that have helped her deliver quality care with a goal toward promoting optimal success for clients.

Before joining Outreach, McDermott was a residential counselor for Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, where she assisted adolescent residents in meeting social and academic treatment goals and objectives, facilitating and monitoring daily activities in a structured residential setting.

McDermott received her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Queens College of the City University of New York and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, College at Florham.
