Melissa Herrmann, LMSW

Melissa Herrmann started working at Outreach in March of 2024 as the EQuITY (Enhancing Quality and Integration of Treatment) Project Director. EQuITY is a grant that allows Outreach to provide enhanced outpatient services to clients ages 12-25, an age group traditionally underserved and overlooked.

Prior to coming to Outreach, Ms. Herrmann worked at Concern Housing as a Program Supervisor managing two Mobile Residential Support Team teams in Suffolk County, which includes LPNs, CASAC’s, Peer Specialist, and other staff. Ms. Herrmann also worked at Center for Discovery, a residential treatment facility for adolescents with significant mental health and eating disorders. Ms. Herrmann worked there for five years starting as a floor counselor; she then was promoted to a Facility Manager, and then worked as an Associate Therapist.

Ms. Herrmann is a Licensed Mental Social Worker who is obtaining her clinical hours towards her LCSW. Ms. Herrmann received her bachelor’s degree in social work at Stonybrook University, and her master’s degree in social work at Adelphi University. Ms. Herrmann completed her internships with Kids Need More, which is an agency that works with children and their families with life-threatening medical illnesses; she also interned with Saint Catherine’s Hospital on the oncology and critical intensive care unit.

Ms. Herrmann has participated in many different agency and Suffolk County committees and is currently the co-chair of Psychosocial Determinates of Health Sub-Committee for Nassau County.  Ms. Herrmann is passionate about addressing barriers for access to treatment and helping support clients and their families.
