Krista Whitman, LCSW-R, CASAC
Krista Whitman has over 20 years of experience in addiction treatment and management. As Chief Operating Officer, she oversees the day-to-day operations of all the agency’s programs and staff. Prior to being named COO, Ms. Whitman was Vice President of Outpatient Services where she managed daily operations, program development and clinical culture for the agency’s OASAS and OMH outpatient clinics. In that role, Ms. Whitman ensured compliance to OASAS and OMH regulations as well as Outreach’s high level of quality standards. Ms. Whitman is also a leader on the agency’s Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee and serves as the agency’s LGBTQIA+ Coordinator.
As Program Director of Outreach’s Outpatient Services at Suffolk Avenue in Brentwood, Krista Whitman assisted in the development of specialized treatment services for women and the expansion of programming for Spanish-speaking clients. Additionally, she helped develop a forensic track to reduce substance use and criminal recidivism among clients who were formerly incarcerated.
Prior to joining Outreach, Ms. Whitman spent 10 years with the Pederson-Krag Center where she was responsible for overseeing two Addiction Recovery Services departments. While at Pederson-Krag, she worked to develop comprehensive services to serve the Co-Occurring Substance Use and Mental Health population. Krista Whitman also worked as a Coordinator of the Suffolk County Re-Entry Task Force, where she helped provide service linkages to new parolees and engaged state and local partners to provide benefits, services, and community-level support.
Ms. Whitman is a member of the Suffolk County Re-Entry Task Force, and the Suffolk County Criminal Justice Addiction Workgroup. She received her Master of Social Work from SUNY at Stony Brook. In 2022, the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists honored her with their Community Service Award.
