In August 2019, Enoch Chan, M.D. joined Outreach as the organization’s full-time Medical Director. A medical practitioner for more than 20 years, Chan previously served as consulting physician to Outreach, since 2014.
A practiced, compassionate veteran of the medical community, Chan will have a leading role in advancing Outreach’s integrated care model, to benefit all individuals and families involved with treatment. Short-term goals include collaboration with executive and senior management to expand the agency’s Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) capabilities and to implement the use of telehealth. Chan will serve as Outreach’s representative to the greater medical community, in addition to providing direct patient care at the agency’s locations in Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island.
Chan received his medical degree from New York Medical College, with honors in psychiatry and clinical honors in internal medicine, and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Stony Brook University. He served his residency in the North Shore University Health System, with his first role as attending physician at Long Island’s Peconic Bay Medical Associates. Before becoming a consulting physician to Outreach in Bellport, Chan was attending physician at a Long Island-based family medicine practice and served as medical director for other Long Island behavioral health agencies. Chan regularly participates in American Society of Addiction Medicine conferences and training sessions, and recently joined the Board of Directors of the New York Council on Problem Gambling.
