Dolores A. Jewell, J.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Jewell is an Adjunct Instructor at the Outreach Training Institute.
Dr. Jewell has over 40 years of experience in both mental health and addiction treatment services, as a psychologist and administrator. Prior to joining the faculty at Outreach, Dr. Jewell was the Deputy Executive Director at Rockland Psychiatric Center. While at Rockland, she led the Quality Assurance Division, and was responsible for the Hospital’s Professional Development, Program Evaluation, Risk Management/Regulatory Compliance, Medical Records, and Utilization Review Departments.
Prior to Rockland Dr. Jewell was the Director at the Kingsboro Addiction Treatment Center. She was Responsible for the overall administrative, fiscal, and clinical functioning of the Center, a CARF accredited facility. She undertook major programmatic change to develop specialized programming in Inpatient Detoxification, Co-Occurring Disorders, Criminal Justice, Women’s Programming, and Bilingual Latino Services.
Before Kingsboro, Dr. Jewell served as the National Director of Quality Assurance at Phoenix House. She was responsible for the design of all quality assurance and risk management activities for Phoenix House programs in nine states. While at Phoenix House she developed or codeveloped training curriculum in the areas of Quality Assurance, Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, and Clinical Documentation for New York Region Clinical Managers.
Dr. Jewell obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Boston University and is a New York State Licensed Psychologist. She obtained her J.D. from the Pace University Elizabeth Haub School of Law. She has served as an Adjunct Professor at the College of New Rochelle, in the Addiction Counseling track of their Community Services Master’s Program.
