Desiree Hamilton, CASAC

As a Qualified Health Professional, Desiree is a NYS Licensed Mental Health Counselor and NYS Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor at the Masters Level. With an additional specialty designation of Qualified Problem Gambling Professional, Desiree has been active as a Substance Abuse Counselor in outpatient, Medically Managed Inpatient Detoxification Unit, and adolescent services agencies for seven years. Desiree obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Saint John’s University and Masters of Arts in Forensic Psychology from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice prior to licensure and credentialing and has been active as an educator as well.

Desiree’s experience as an educator comes from over 13 years of experience as an adjunct professor at SUNY at Old Westbury and Mercy College, formerly the College of New Rochelle, teaching both undergraduate and graduate students. Desiree is also an accomplished writer and author of self-help content designed to increase positivity in the lives of others struggling with self-esteem, self-concept, and coping.
