CASAC Exam Preparation | Outreach New York

Taking the CASAC exam can be a challenging endeavor. Outreach Training Institute (OTI) boosts exam-takers’ confidence with its new 20-hour CASAC Exam Preparation Course; which consists of 7 hours of Ready-To-Test, and 13 hours of CASAC Foundations. Loaded with the tips and strategies needed to conquer the exam, the 20-hour course consists of four sessions designed to help. *This entire prep course is eligible for up to 20 continuing education hours (for CASACs).

OTI’s prep course reflects the most recent updates made to the CASAC exam, including the most recent updates to the four domains, a focus on new subjects, and the updated criteria from the release of the DSM-V.

Classes are now offered exclusively online via Webex. IMPORTANT: As this newly designed virtual course offers synchronous (live, virtually) learning hours as well as asynchronous testing hours (on your time, with designated time frames), please review the below breakdown carefully on what to expect.

Ready to Test: Preparation, Test-taking Skills

DAY 1: Virtual/Online (Participants will be asked to complete a 50-question simulated exam after this session; which must be taken remotely on their own time. Participants will be given instructions on how to access the exam remotely.)

DAY 2: Virtual/Online (Participants will be asked to complete four (4) 100-question simulated exams after this session; which must be taken remotely on their own time. Participants will be given instructions on how to access the exam remotely.)

CASAC Foundations: Overview of Domains I, II, III, IV

DAY 3: Virtual/Online Participants will be asked to complete a 150-question simulated exams; which must be taken remotely on their own time. Participants will be given instructions on how to access the exam remotely.)

- Domain I: Scientific Principles of Substance Use and Co-Occurring Disorders
- Domain II: Evidence-Base Screening and Assessment
- Domain III: Evidence-Based Treatment, Counseling and Referral
- Domain IV: Professional, Ethical and Legal Responsibilities

DAY 4: Virtual/Online

- Review of simulated exam with your instructor
- Personalized exam analysis and study plan

Recent Alumni of OTI’s 350 hour CASAC Training Program & Outreach Staff: FREE
- OTI Alumni must have graduated no more than 6 months ago.
- For current Outreach Staff with Supervisor approval
