Susana Maruy

Susana Maruy is the Director of Billing & Collections at Outreach, a role she has held since March 2022. In this position, Susana oversees the organization’s entire revenue cycle, ensuring accurate coding, compliant billing, and efficient collection processes to maximize reimbursement. She manages the full lifecycle of claims, including submission, payment posting, and denial management, while closely monitoring key performance metrics to improve cash flow, reduce aged accounts, and minimize claim denials.

Susana provides strategic leadership over billing operations, including the supervision, hiring, training, and development of billing personnel to foster a high-performing team. She analyzes financial and operational reports, maintains strict compliance with federal, state, and third-party payer regulations (including Medicare and Medicaid), and works to optimize payer contracts. Her work ensures that all billing practices adhere to applicable regulatory and compliance standards.

Susana began her career at Outreach in July 2017 as a Billing Specialist. She was promoted to Billing Manager in June 2021, and shortly thereafter advanced to Director of Billing & Collections, reflecting her strong performance, technical expertise, and leadership capabilities.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Health Services Administration, summa cum laude, from Monroe College in Bronx, New York (2020). Susana is also a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and a Certified Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO) through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). She remains actively engaged in the field as a member of the AAPC, the world’s largest training and credentialing organization for medical billing, coding, auditing, compliance, and practice management professionals.

With over 21 years of experience in the medical billing field, Susana brings extensive knowledge of revenue cycle management across multiple healthcare settings. Prior to joining Outreach, she served as an Insurance Verification Coordinator from July 2011 to August 2016, and previously worked as a Medical Biller at Manhattan Diagnostic Radiology from September 2006 to July 2011. Earlier in her career, she also gained operational experience as a Mortgage Processor from March 2003 to July 2006.
