Beth Covelli, LCSW-R, a lecturer for Outreach Training Institute, has been working in the field of social work and addiction treatment for over 20 years. Before coming to Outreach, Covelli developed and implemented the women’s program and the adolescent and family services at The Child Center of New York’s Jamaica Family Center. As Director of Outpatient Substance Abuse Services, she oversaw daily operations, facilities management and outreach, among other initiatives, at the Queens-based agency.
Within the substance abuse treatment field, Covelli has received numerous recognitions by her peers. She has been awarded Outstanding Achievement for Substance Abuse Prevention, Care and Treatment (2015) by the Queens Consortium on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse and Alcoholism (QCASA) and the Eileen Pencer Victory Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Chemical Dependence Field (2011), as well as additional awards in the field of education.
Covelli has multiple licenses and certifications, including Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-R) is Chairperson for the Queens Consortium on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, C-3 Board Member for the New York Association of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Providers, a member of the Treatment Court Regional Workgroup, a Stakeholder in the Queens Probation NeON Group and Queens Criminal AP Youth Court, and a Member and Mentor, respectively, with the New York Association of Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Providers’ Women’s Mentorship Group and Women’s Services Workgroup.
Covelli received her Master’s Degree in Social Work and a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Adelphi University.
