With funding from the NYS Department of Health’s Workforce Retraining Initiative, Outreach Training Institute is happy to announce the availability of scholarships for health workers interested in being trained the following evidence-based practices: Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Overview and Applications in Substance Abuse Treatment. These trainings are all eligible for CASAC, Social Work, and Mental Health Counseling re-credentialing hours and CEUs.
Eligibility for scholarships include the county in which applicants are employed. Applicants must be employed in a healthcare facility* located in an eligible county. For a snapshot, please view the chart below.

*A healthcare facility is any setting licensed or certified by NYS Department of Health (DOH) or NYC Dept of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), Office of Mental Health (OMH), or Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (OASAS), such as hospitals, community-based clinics, residential treatment facilities, etc.
